I think that this scene is one of the saddest scenes in all Disney I don't think the crying of cinderella or simba is comparable to Dumbo especially since his mother wasn't able to see him all she could do was touch his face and caress him without seeing him crying he was still too young to part with his mother especially since the mouse was the person The only one in the entire circus who doesn't bother him It's very normal to cry without thinking much cz whether you feel for dumbo or his mother the feelings have reached you

My mother & grandmother use to sing this to me as a baby/small child. My grandmother died 8 years ago from liver cancer and this song just brings back those memories. :(

I’m a 36 year old man and this clip always makes me cry. I think because like Dumbo, I was also raised by a single mother and the thought of losing her breaks my heart.

I have always wondered why whenever our parents would watch this with my sister and I, they would hold us and get emotional at this particular song, which would in turn would sometimes make us emotional. In my younger mind, I never knew who actually sang it. After more than a decade, it took the subtitles from Disney plus for me to realize it was Mrs. Jumbo all along, and why our parents reacted that way they did. And it made me cry harder than I ever did back then.

I got this song stuck in my head for a while now and after finding out the things done to me by my mom and dad and the relationship I wish I had with her but won't after finding out what she did and that she doesn't even want me. It's an ache that this song brings out in me.

Age 75, tears as a child. Gut wrenching now, tearing baby and momma apart. Being a mother, grand & great grandmother certainly just adds to the pain. I still love the song.

When I was younger I saw this and this scene made me cry. I’m 17 and I can watch this but what gets me is dumbo hugging his mom’s trunk.

Like countless others leaving comments, This scene alone can bring the strongest hearts to oceans of tears. More than anything, the hardest thing to not get emotional over is the need his mother has to comfort him. In spite of the fear, confusion, and anxiety being locked away brought her, all she wanted at that moment of uncertainty was to stop her child from worrying. I think this scene for anyone who lost a family member, is surreal and ultra-reflective. For me, I see her more vividly, almost as though the scene speaks for me, to her. My mother was my shield growing up. I didn't understand what I lost when she passed in my early teens. In my case, my mother passed away in her sleep. ever since then I've been picking up as many pieces as I can to move on. And years later, I went from not being sure what to make of her death to losing composure uncontrollably -- almost in a way I can't understand logically -- when I get a glimpse of her life through this scene. The only respite is watching this scene and understanding the perspective she would have: "not wanting me to feel the pain of losing her"

this song is magic for my nephew and younger siblings, when they were babies they fell asleep 30 seconds into the song. i love this movie

My mother passed away on April 26, 2024. I have been hanging in there. It is hard to hold on knowing your mother's time is over.

My I’m 38 and my mom died 2 years ago,and my sister died in October…my niece is now without a mother, just like me… but she’s probably too young to really remember her mom when she grows up. Sometimes I watch this just to remember watching it with my mom and promising her I’d always always know how much she loved me. I try so hard to keep my sisters memory alive for my niece.
